During my pregnancy with Opeie I was very very ill, I was admitted to hospital 23 times, and was on constant daily medication & injections.
After I had him, it was 5 months until I was able to leave the house & say good bye to my wheelchair .
Due to being so inactive , and eating meals for the first time properly in a year I piled on around 3 stone.
Ive now lost 2.2 st of those 3, and have decided that once I'm back at my pre pregnancy weight I'd like to loose maybe another 1/2 - 1 st more . So I roughly have 1-5-2st left to loose....
One of the things I do religiously before bed is take a cup, fill it with oats and cover in Almond Alpro milk, to soak over night.
In the morning the oats will be nice and soft , put them in a blender , add around 100ml Alpro amond / soya/ hazelnut / coconut milk.
Add 1/2 a cup of frozen red berries, (I buy a 500g box from Asda for £2 mixed summer fruits which contain ; red currents, blackcurrents, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.)
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
If you struggle to get probiotics in to your diet add a table spoon or two of CoYo or some other probiotic yoghurt, ( my husband-to-be isn't vegan and has YeoValley natural yoghurt in his ) I think you can get Alpro soya probiotic too now.
Add 1/2 - 1 ripe banana
1 tablespoon of coconut oil as this works in conjunction with the fruits to enable your body to process & use the carbs and sugars in the fruit at a slower rate.
Sometimes I don't use yoghurt if I don't have any, you could Skip this or even add extra oats or something else such as a handful of seeds, for extra protein .
When everything is in the blender, pulse a few times then blend, if it's quite solid add more milk .
Whizz around the blender until you are happy with it, for toddlers add more milk , as it can be quite thick . Enjoy!
If you make this, let me know what you think !
